It’s the beginning of a new month and exactly 40 days since Persephone made her descent into the underworld.
The leaves are withering, the weather is shifting, and the sun is rising later, all clear environmental signals to slow down. Yet if you listen to society, it’s time to ramp up, push harder, and force the holiday spirit into motion.
This time of year becomes chaotic precisely because of the holiday rush and manufactured consumer urgency. People joke about Mariah Carey thawing out for the season, but rarely stop to examine how their own January 1 to 31 persona is thawing out right alongside her.
People are already shifting their focus toward New Year resolutions they have no real intention of maintaining or executing.
A massive reason for that failure is simple: forcing that level of outward momentum right now is completely out of alignment with the natural season.
This isn't to say you shouldn't celebrate or enjoy the holidays, but rather a reminder not to let performance and consumer chaos be all that you do.
November is literally the month where trees are stripped down to their barest structures. If you follow the flow of nature, this is your cue to follow suit.
November is the ideal threshold to strip away excess noise, redundant routines, and artificial performance. It is the moment to pause and examine your own baseline structure.
I know a lot of people resist the concept of stillness, reflection, and restoration this time of year, and I get it. We were conditioned to hurry up, aggressively plan, and execute on the first of January. While setting goals isn't inherently bad, it becomes completely counterproductive if you don't take the steps required to maintain your equilibrium first.
I am not telling you to abandon your plans or avoid setting intentions. I am encouraging you to also take this time to collect hard data on yourself and your life from this past year.
A lot has transpired since January 1, 2026, and there is immense insight sitting in that history. This is the time to ask yourself plainly:
🍁 What actually transpired this year?
🍁 What did I do that yielded real, tangible results?
🍁 What was a complete waste of my energy?
Stopping to reflect and redirect saves you time. It prevents you from trying to build a new vision on top of a leaky foundation, ensuring you don't fall victim to the standard "New Year, New Me" cycle.
Three Grounded Practices for the Month
1. Collect raw data on your daily schedule. Identify exactly where your focus is being drained out of obligation or social habit, rather than real alignment. Cut the drain at the source.
2. Eliminate background mental static by cleaning up your physical workspace and, most importantly, your digital environment. We carry an immense amount of stagnant energy simply because it's out of sight, out of mind.
Your Digital Declutter Checklist:
❌ Delete unnecessary contacts, text threads, and messaging app histories (FB/IG).
❌ Clear out your email inbox and purge old saved passwords.
❌ Clear out outdated entries in your Notes app.
❌ Exit unnecessary group chats and block whoever needs to be blocked.
❌ Delete photos, old memes, and random screenshots cluttering your storage.
❌ Delete apps you haven't opened in months and close unused payment accounts (PayPal/Square).
❌ Cancel unused recurring subscriptions.
❌ Clear out your Amazon wishlists (you’ll quickly realize how much of it you no longer want).
❌ Update expired payment details and trim your Apple or Google Wallet down to one primary card.
❌ Clear your browser search and call histories.
The most critical thing you can do this season is rest. Chile, REST YOURSELF!!
Rest is not a passive “reward” you earn based on how hard you labor. Rest is non-negotiable. It is vital maintenance required to preserve your baseline authority and personal power.
It’s a new month. The cycle of endless doing is over; you are now walking through the threshold of being.
